Schools and colleges will attend an educational programme surrounding our Degree Show. Workshops will take place, and Wetlands will be previewed and publicised.

Book Domino at Hoo Library by Aggela Ioannidou.

People of the community will be encouraged to create a map of Hoo using books, like a game of Dominos. Pages will be read once the books have taken their fall. They will be donated to the people attending. Open Event

 Waiting for the Tide - Art Workshop

at Temple Mill Children Centre.

Inspired by Nadia Perrotta and Ben Crawford’s films, participants will be invited to make glow in the dark underwater objects/landscapes using clay, alginate and glow in the dark

powder. The artists encourage a dialogue with their local area through the river Medway

and individual memories of the landscape by playing footage of video and soundscapes

taken in the area. Participants will respond to these influences through the malleable materials

presented. (Families will be invited through the children centre)

Origami workshop outside Hoo Marina Cafe by Clarinda Tse.

People will learn how to make origami of marine life and elements of the natural landscape. During the hightide some of the origami will be “given” to the river. Open Event

Treasure Hunt/Art tour.

On the river bank from Hoo Marina to Lower Upnor. A collection of art works by students and alumni University of Kent will be displayed along the river bank serving as clues for a treasure hunt for children, families, schools and any other members of the community... the clues will lead to a final piece that will also be a prize. There will be a map of the location of art works given at the

starting point of the tour. Most of the art works will be left outdoor during the high tide in order to observe the changing environment and the relationship they will create with the landscape. The treasure hunt will also be the start of the main art exhibition. Open Event
